Highclere Castle is loved by many for its central role in the hit ITV series ‘Downton Abbey’, which is filmed on location here. It was the seat of the 5^th Earl of Carnarvon who, in 1922, famously discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun with his colleague Howard Carter. Today the Castle is also host to an Egyptian Exhibition that celebrates the 5^th Earl’s achievements.

The Battle Proms takes place directly overlooking this impressive and iconic building.
